As you’ve probably noticed, I love mom and daughter matching outfits with Arabella. I figure she won’t want to dress like her mommy forever, so I want to twin while I can (though she may come back around — my mom and I probably own more matching outfits than my daughter and I, though we don’t wear them at the same time in the same location!).

Often, I’ll just try to coordinate whatever I’m wearing with what Arabella has on, but it’s also fun to go full-on matchy matchy!

Something I didn’t realize before I had a baby is how many stores actually offer mom and daughter matching outfits, or matching outfits for the whole family! My faves are Lilly Pulitzer (obviously), Hanna Andersson and Marley Lilly. And I love Goldsheep for matching leggings. But you can also find matching or coordinated pieces at separate stores by choosing a common print or pattern — like polka dots or plaid — and sometimes may even stumble upon something in the baby section that matches something you already have.

Last year, I was shopping at the Exchange and saw a toddler-sized tiered tulle skirt that was almost an exact match of an adult one from Nordstrom! So you never know.

If you’re not quite sure about mom and daughter matching — or having your entire family match — out in public, matching pajamas are always a good idea. And since none of us are going out in public much these days anyway, and comfy pajamas can double as lounge wear, that sounds like a win-win to me.
