I’m super excited about my next giveaway, and you should be, too! Today I’m giving away the book Kintsugi Wellness: The Japanese Art of Nourishing Mind, Body, and Spirit, by Candice Kumai. This book is AMAZING and you totally need it in your life.
Longtime readers may recall that I’m a bit of a Candice Kumai fangirl anyway, so it seemed like fate that her wellness book based on techniques from Japanese culture and history would come out just before I moved to Japan. I pre-ordered it and read it on the plane to Okinawa.
Unlike her previous books, which are primarily cookbooks, this book tells Candice’s story and touches on all aspects of life. The title is based on the Japanese art of kintsugi, or repairing broken pottery to make it whole again, then sealing the cracks with gold. The idea is that we should embrace and celebrate our imperfections, and realize that life is not perfect — it’s perfectly imperfect.
But, of course, the book DOES contain lots of great recipes as well, for things like matcha chocolate chip cookies (I’ll be doing a separate post on these, but in the meantime you can get the recipe on Candice’s website), miso avocado toast, and super cute bento boxes.
If you’re still not convinced, you can check out the book on Amazon, or check out Candice’s new podcast. I also hope you’ll enter my giveaway to win a copy — all you have to do is subscribe to my blog newsletter, or enter your email if you’re already subscribed.
Please note: this post does include two affiliate links, but this giveaway is not sponsored by anyone or any entity other than me. If you win, I will order and send a copy of Kintsugi Wellness to you from Amazon, so as long as Amazon can deliver to you, you can enter the contest! Good luck!
These cookies look amazing!
Looks like a great book. I would like to make the recipes in this book.
