I wasn’t really on board with the off-the-shoulder look when it first started trending. I never thought it looked bad (although some stuff can be weird if it’s not made correctly). It’s just that I thought it was annoying to not be able to lift my arms and to have to wear a strapless bra. Plus, I was living in a country where I was supposed to keep my shoulders covered.
However, I kept seeing more and more off-the-shoulder items popping up online, and a few were too cute to resist. This dress was the first off-the-shoulder item I purchased, but it stayed in my closet for several months — until I went to Spain, where you can wear whatever you want and not get weird looks.
I’ll admit, it was annoying to not really be able to lift my arms properly. Still, it made a good traveling dress, and worked well with these navy blue Tom’s, which were new then but became my favorite-ever travel shoes. I actually wore them out, so I had to throw them away and get a new pair.
One thing you may not have noticed about this dress: The print is of various Disney princesses and their castles. Because I’m ridiculous like that.
So, what do you guys think of the off-the-shoulder look?
