I’ve always been kind of terrible about remembering to bring and wear sunglasses, but since moving to sunny California, I’ve been making a conscious effort to wear them more often — especially when driving and at the beach. I have several pairs already, of course, but I’m always on the lookout for a new pair. And, at the same time, I’ve been ordering boxes of try-on frames from Warby Parker for new regular glasses.
So, I was super excited when Warby Parker contacted me about helping announce their new collaboration with supermodel/cookie baker/Taylor Swift BFF/all-around awesome girl Karlie Kloss.
The glasses all look really flattering and pretty, the frames come in gold and silver, and the gradient lenses come in violet clover, sepia wash, copper fade, faded slate and indigo wash. I think I like the aviator style (Julia) and the cat-eye-esque ones (Marple) in silver with blue lenses, but gold with the rosy/copper lenses are also very pretty.
As an added bonus, a portion of each sale benefits Edible Schoolyard NYC, which provides kitchens and gardens to low-income public schools. And, for every pair of glasses WP sells, they distribute a pair to someone in need.
This actually comes at a perfect time for me; I recently contracted this weird thing called Bell’s Palsy, which means I haven’t been able to wear my contacts because my right eye is not blinking properly (and the right side of my face isn’t working quite right). It is getting better, and should hopefully go away very soon, but it has made me realize that I really should have a pair of prescription sunglasses for bright days when I’m not wearing my contacts. Warby Parker sunglasses are a great option because they aren’t super expensive — most WP polarized sunglasses are $95 without a prescription or $150 with, and these Karlie Kloss styles are $145 without a prescription.
Anyway, I am going to try to order a few pairs of these to try on at home, or maybe just upload a photo of myself to virtually try them on. I’ll let you know which I choose! Which are your favorites?
Cute blog name! And Karlie Kloss is such a fashion forward style icon. Love her cooking recipes too! 🙂
Thank you!!!
