My mom and I went to San Francisco this weekend for a girls weekend of shopping, sightseeing, eating… and more shopping.
We actually lived in the Bay area for a few years when I was little, but I was so young that I don’t really remember it. And the last (and only other) time I went to San Francisco was for a few days in 1994. It was August, but I ended up wearing the same sweatshirt and jeans the whole time because I was so cold. It was also pretty cold this time, but at least I expected it.
We had a reservation for tea on Saturday — our main shopping day — so I wanted to wear a dress, but needed to wear some warm and comfortable shoes. Solution? Doc Martens.
I was channeling the mid-90s, obviously, but I tried to update the look a bit with a burgundy boyfriend cardigan instead of a flannel shirt, and jewelry from Madewell, Stella and Dot and Kate Spade instead of Delia*s. I’m still listening to Lithium, though.
Dress: Madewell (sold out, similar, similar), Sweater: J.Crew (old, similar), Tights: Nordstrom, Boots: Doc Martens (use code DMFF2513 for 25% off, until Dec. 13), Bag: Kate Spade (sold out, similar), Scarf (tied around purse chain): Therapie mobile boutique, Necklaces: Madewell (old, similar, similar), present from my grandmother (similar), Bracelets: Stella and Dot, Kate Spade, Refinery 29 Pop Up shop (similar, similar), Lou Lou (similar), Watch: Kate Spade, Bow ring: Kate Spade (old, similar).
You know you’re a 90’s kid when you had a pair of Doc Martens!
nice purse 🙂
