It’s Nov. 30, which means it’s the end of National Blog Post Month. You may have noticed that I’ve posted every day this month except Nov. 27. I hope it wasn’t too annoying for you. It was definitely a challenge for me to find or make enough things to post, and some bum recipes (combined with holiday travel) tripped me up.
I am still working on developing a pumpkin pie marshmallow recipe that is worth posting, but what really caused the Nov. 27 fail was a bourbon-sea salt caramel recipe from Bon Appetit. The caramels didn’t set properly, so they were impossible to cut. Instead, I wrapped them in parchment paper and stuck the entire square in a Ziploc bag (which resulted in the TSA scanning my carry-on bag three times), then we ripped off random chunks to eat. It tasted good, but wasn’t quite right. Either I need a new candy thermometer or the recipe is flawed. Possibly both. Womp womp.
Anyway, I had hoped to do some hair and beauty how-tos, a few more DIYs and even photos of our house, but I got so busy that I didn’t have time to experiment with those things and still get a post up every day. Hopefully having a little more flexibility (and a better plan) will help me get some new content up in December and in 2014, along with a bunch of Christmas cookies and other recipes, of course.
But, as always, let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see! Leave a comment below, or email me at marshmallowsandmargaritas (at) gmail (dot) com.
