Sunday was our sixth wedding anniversary. We’ve done a lot since then — both of us have gone to Afghanistan (although Toby was there for almost a year, and I was just there two weeks), we’ve gotten master’s degrees (and Toby’s about to get his second), we’ve moved twice and are getting ready to move again… but it still doesn’t seem that long since I was welcomed to the Marine Corps with a sword smack on the bum.
To celebrate, Toby made reservations for Saturday at The Bombay Club, a very nice Indian restaurant near the White House. We drank a bottle of champagne, ate a ton of awesome food and then went home to change and see the new Star Trek movie. Pretty low key, but fun.
Since it was unseasonably cold, I ended up wearing the same outfit I wore on Christmas (and we celebrated Christmas in Michigan this year — at the church where we got married). Toby wore something very similar to what he wore for our rehearsal dinner.
(Shoes and sweater are Kate Spade, skirt is J.Crew)
I know most bloggers write a lot of mushy stuff on their anniversaries, but that’s not really my style. Instead, I’ll leave you with a few of my favorite photos from the wedding.
I love you, sweetheart!
