Even though I went to Georgia and will always root for the Bulldogs, I felt like I had to become a Navy fan when we moved to Annapolis a few years ago and lived at the Naval Academy. We had season tickets our first year, and then Toby was a company officer at the academy (in charge of a company of midshipmen) for the next two years and was able to get tickets for all the games. Last year, we moved to Alexandria, Va., but we ordered season tickets again and, of course, went to the Army-Navy game in December.
So you can imagine that I was uberexcited when my coworker asked if I wanted to go to the White House (yes, please!) to help cover the presentation of the commander-in-chief’s trophy to the Navy football team.
I obviously had to wear something Navy themed, but I also wanted to make sure my outfit was professional enough for, you know, the White House. I decided to go with anchor earrings and an anchor sweater, along with this super versatile polka-dot top and navy blue pencil skirt.
I even got to go in the (tiny) White House briefing room!
J.Crew cardigan (old, similar here and here), top (old, similar here), skirt and bag (or similar), Betsey Johnson earrings (old, similar here). Arturo Chiang shoes (old, similar here)
What do you think? I do love navy blue and white.
