Why is it that there are 100 different products to add volume to your hair, and none to get rid of it? The reason I’m asking is that my hair — which starts out straight and normal-ish each morning — grows to 80s-era Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader size every afternoon. Not exactly what I’m going for. I have been using some Frizz-Ease stuff, but frizz isn’t really the problem. Anyway, if anyone knows of a product that can help my hair look more Gossip Girl, less Jersey Shore, let me know.

If anyone has any suggestions for you I’m gonna need you to send them to me, immediately. *hearts*
I just saw this article a few minutes ago:

Do you think something like that might work? Um, preferably the at-home version as the salon versions appear to be way dubious?
In one of my magazines this month there was mention of an “at home” product, that costs a whopping $145 for the bottle! YIKES. But, I’m sure it is cheaper than getting the salon job.
Isabel, I think that is more for people with curly hair? Like the opposite of a perm. And mine is pretty much straight. But it might work for Molly.
Use Redken Smooth Down…..it is a whole line of products. There is a serum that you can use before you dry your hair and a pomade type stuff that you can use after your hair is dry and smooth down fly-aways. The shampoo is also good, but it was a little too much for my hair. The products are made with macadamia oil (apparently). I use the serum when I blow dry my hair straight, but don’t put it on my roots because they tend to get greasy.
My thick, naturally wavy hair does not agree with the Memphis humidity. Some time ago, it occurred to me that I had possessed a possible weapon in my arsenal for years and never thought to use it. Seemed worth a try, since people already used products like Mane N Tail shampoo and hoof conditioners on themselves. My favorite de-frizzing serum?
Cowboy Magic Detangler & Shine Hopefully, this link shows up properly, because my HTML vocabulary stinks.
Tested it first on Fred, a co-worker at the zoo, who had a long mane of very curly hair (yes, he’s human!). He started using it to de-frizz his hair and was thrilled that it also kept dust from sticking to his locks when he was raking the gravel lots at work. I have worked true miracles with this product detangling manes and tails that were akin to mangled fishing lines.
A little goes a long way. I put a pea sized amount in my hands and work it through damp or towel dry hair and it’s been working great for me, too! Has a pleasant, slightly citrusy scent. Available at most any local tack shop, Tractor Supply Co, various horse product catalogs, etc.
Genius! I have heard that horse products work wonders. I will definitely give it a try.
