Y’all know I love tea, and my friend Isabel and I had been talking about trying Tea Upon Chatsworth, a tea room in Point Loma. So when my friend Melissa came to visit from Toronto, we thought it was the perfect time to check it out.

The tea room was adorable, and they encourage you to try more than one pot of their various teas. We ordered a coconut creme white tea, a green tea with coconut and lemongrass, the house blend (a black tea) and chai. They were all delicious, and we loved the coconut creme so much that we all bought some to take home. I also bought some of the house blend.

Tea Upon Chatsworth offers two menus: A three-course afternoon tea and a four-course high tea (which has the same things as the afternoon tea, but with a few additions). We chose the high tea and were glad we did. All the food was absolutely delicious, but some of my favorites were the items that only came with the afternoon tea (such as red pepper soup and artichoke-sundried tomato bruchetta).  The scones were so good that we didn’t know what to do with ourselves after we had eaten them… so Isabel and I bought some (frozen) to take home.

So, what did I wear? As the title of this post suggests, a pink tutu. Because what better opportunity to wear tulle than for tea, right?

I’ve made some of the coconut creme tea at home already, and it’s my new favorite. I’m also really, really excited about the scones. And I can’t wait to go back. If you’re anywhere near the San Diego area, you have to try it. You won’t be sorry. Just make sure you make a reservation first.
