Although I frequently bring baked goods to work, my actual day job doesn’t usually involve cake. But one day last year, I came to work and was immediately alerted to the existence of a tank covered in cupcakes (which were decorated with camouflage fondant) in the Pentagon courtyard.

Turns out, the ladies of Georgetown Cupcake had come to celebrate the Army’s birthday.

It was pretty awesome. The tank even had a turret that shot cupcakes.

They also gave away tons of delicious cupcakes that day. And today, they’re giving away more. All of their locations are giving free cupcakes to active-duty military, veterans and military family members today (Friday, June 13) for the Army’s birthday.

So, if you or your spouse are in the military and live in DC, LA, Boston or NYC, go pick up your free cupcake today! And if not, you can make your own camouflage cupcakes.
